The entire image will still have to be loaded. Scale the image to the size you want to show it. WordPress helps by providing the image in multiple sizes after upload already. Unfortunately that doesn’t mean the file size is optimized as well, that’s just the image size.
How To Optimize The Image?

Step#1:-Go to Google PageSpeed Insight
Step#2:-Enter Your Website’s URL and click on analyse option
Step#3:-Now Click on Show How to Fix Under optimize image to get the URL for the Image That Has to Be Optimized
Step#4:- Copy the URL
Step#5:-Now go to http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/imageoptimizer/
Step#6:- Now Paste the Url In “Enter the url of an image:” and click optimize option
Step#7:- Now the Result Page Will Be Opened showing 5+ result kindly save the appropriate one and replace the image in your website.
